Balaputra Dewa Museum
   
       The museum was built in 1877 with the traditional architecture of Palembang in the area of 23.565 square meters and was inaugurated on November 5, 1984. This museum was originally called the State Museum of South Sumatra province, then by decree of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 1223/1999 dated 4 April 1990. Museum was named Museum of South Sumatra Province "Bala Son of God".
       Balaputra's name comes from the name of a king who ruled Srivijaya in VIII-IX centuries to reach maritime empire. In this museum there is a pattern that describes a collection of cultural and natural diversity of South Sumatra. The location comprises a variety of objects histrografi, ethnography, feologi, ceramics, modern technology, fine art, flora and fauna and geology. In addition there is a pyramid house and home Ulu Ali, we can visit it by using route km 12 public transport.

AMPERA Bridge

Ampera Bridge is a bridge in Palembang, South Sumatra Province, Indonesia. Ampera Bridge, which has become a sort of symbol of the city, situated in the middle of the city of Palembang, the area connects Seberang Ulu and Ilir Across separated by the River Musi. Length: 1117 m (the center of the 71.90 m), Width: 22 m, Height: 11.5 m from the surface of the water, Tower Height: 63 m from the ground surface, distance between the tower: 75 m, Weight: 944 tons.
In the beginning, the middle of the body of this bridge can be lifted to the top of the mast in order not to get caught passing underneath the bridge entity. The center of the bridge can be removed with mechanical equipment, two pendulum weights each about 500 tons in the two towers. Appointment velocity of about 10 meters per minute with a total time necessary to fully lift the bridge for 30 minutes. At the center of the bridge removed, the vessels of 60 meters wide and with a maximum height of 44.50 meters, can pass the River Musi. When the center of the bridge is not removed, the maximum height that the ship could pass under the bridge Ampera only nine feet from the surface of the water.
Since 1970, the activity up and down the middle of this bridge is not done anymore. The reason, the time used to lift the bridge is considered to disrupt the flow of traffic on it.
In 1990, the pendulum weights on the bridge tower was lowered to avoid the collapse of both the burden of this ballast.

SONGKET

Songket is a fabric that belongs to the brocade family of textiles of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei. It is hand-woven in silk or cotton, and intricately patterned with gold or silver threads. The metallic threads stand out against the background cloth to create a shimmering effect. In the weaving process the metallic threads are inserted in between the silk or cotton weft latitudinal threads.

SIGUNTANG HILL

Siguntang Hill is a small hill and have high 29-30 meters.above sea level is located above 3 kilometers from the northern edge of musi river.and included in the city of palembang,south sumatera.
Administratively,this site includes the old hill village,district of west ilir 1,palembang.this hill is about 4 kilometers south west of palembang city center.can be reached using public transportation to major Bukit Besar
Siguntang Hill is a mound of earth's most prominent in the plains city of palembang
Hill covered with trees of the park and the cemetery is believed to be the melayu kings.
There are seven tombs in this Hill.the Tomb are :

RAFT HOUSE



                                      


                    Raft house is a house that floats on the river Musi. This house made of wood and spice with a roof awning (NYPA), and recent shingle with tin roofs (lighter material). Raft house is the oldest form of home in the city of Palembang and may have existed on the kingdom of Srivijaya Period. In Comics History of China as Sun Dynasty (1368-1643) 324 books, written on a raft house that looks not much changed in the Age of the Sultanate of Palembang all foreign nationals must settle on a raft, including British, Spanish, Dutch, Chinese, Champa, Siam, even the first Dutch Trade office is above the raft, complete with a warehouse. The house is in addition to a raft of residence also serves as a warehouse, craft industry. Even in 1900 an hospital built on a raft because they are considered healthier and more beautiful as it can look at life along the river musi.


Musi River




Musi river which flows through the middle of the city is also an interesting and delighted watery object for tourist. Some places along the banks of the river there are rows in rows specific floating houses. You will also see the activities of fisherman gaining for the rivers products while the noisy waterway traffic is on.
Watching the sunset from Ampera Bridge is quite enjoyable while witnessing the twilight covering over the surface of the city.
Musi river is also being an arena for water festivals. Such as boating races, decorated boating contes, river swimming tournament, etc.
In celebrating the indefendence Day on August 17th and anniversary of Palembang birth day on june 17th , there held popular bidar race, mini bidar race and the other shows.

MONPERA Building

The building is centrally located in town and exactly in front of the Agung Mosque. The location of the base used to battle five days and five nights. Putting for the first stone and pole erection of buildings was on August 17, 1975 and inaugurated on 23 February 1988 by the Coordinating Minister for welfare or prawiranegara.

This monument was built to commemorate the struggle of the people of southern Sumatra against the invaders in the physical revolution that was known as the battle of five days and five nights in Palembang. It broke on the 1st of January 1947 involving all the people of Palembang againsted Dutch colonialism
so in this museum,we can see many different types of weapons that used in fighting the war and then including the documents and other historical objects.

Kapitan Village ( Chinese Village)



This is one of the tour object. This place have a history about Chinese people until become Chinese Village (Kapitan Village). Kapitan Village is a building heritage of Chinese located on The Musi River, Palembang. Consists of 15 groups of Chinese-Style building houses stills in the village located 7 Ulu. Kapitan Village estimated before 1850. Viewed from the Ampera Bridge ( if we come from direction of airport ), Kapitan Village is under the right Ampera Bridge. From Kapitan Village, we can walk to go to the other Chinese Village through at under Ampera Bridge. In this Chinese Village, we can find Pagoda (place of the Chinese people to pray). In the Pagoda Chinese has a culinary space. Culinary space in there provide Chinese Food, but not all of Chinese Food. Examples of the Chinese Food in there like Pempek, Tekwan, Model and in there are also sell crackers. They are examples of Chinese Food that selled in there. One of this Chinese Village is near the one of the market in under Ampera Bridge and it is across 16 Market ( The bigger of market in Palembang).
Kapitan Village is across Benteng Kuto Besak. Benteng Kuto Besak is also tour object. And you can also find Museum in there. Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Museum that have collection of statues of Sriwijaya era and other ancient remains. Among them are statue of Ganesha, Amarawati and Buddha.

Punti Kayu Nature Park

 
Punti Kayu Nature Park is the one of forest tour in Palembang city which located 6 km from the city center. Since 1938 punti kayu has been designated as protected forests. And at 1986 the result of an agreement between South Sumatra Province and the Ministry of Forestry, Punti Kaayu designated as Forest Holidays. This is impemented by some facilities, such as protected areas, camping areas, lakes and marsh areas, parks and recreation areas.

Punti Kayu nature park area is a conservation area which concept based on the principles of protection of biological diversity of plants and animals. Forest park is covered with various type of tropical trees typical of a fairly dense and shady pine trees in between. Punti Kayu pine forest is the largest city in Indonesia. The faciities which available in punti kayu are :

To enjoy this ride, we have to pay a fee of Rp. 5000.
